At least some gains in womens' rights were achieved in Afghanistan, who knows what will happen next.

Perhaps the Taliban will pass a law that allows individuals to sue doctors for performing abortions after a heartbeat can be detected.

Pelosi gives Biden the dreaded vote of confidence.

https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/81421-1

“The President is to be commended for the clarity of purpose of his statement on Afghanistan and the actions he has taken.

“The Taliban must know that the world is watching its actions...

“Once again, I want to acknowledge the clarity of purpose of President Biden’s statement and the wisdom of his actions."

@Jay, you don't think Cheney had anything to do with our entanglement in Afghanistan? Obviously he's not responsible for how this is ending, but he sure as shit is very much responsible for orchestrating our presence there. Rumsfeld, too. They knew what they were doing.

They had something to do with it, of course.

There is a whole lot of blame to go around.

I've read that we currently have about 10,000 Americans still over there. The Brits have about 3,000.

(take with a full grain of salt) unconfirmed reports are the Taliban are pulling people from their homes in Kabul and slaughtering them. Suspected Afghan collaborators? No reports yet of any Americans harmed.

Those 10,000 are not including troops, right? I can hardly believe we have that many over there still.

Clarity and Biden are not to be used in the same sentence.
