@Jay, you don't think Cheney had anything to do with our entanglement in Afghanistan? Obviously he's not responsible for how this is ending, but he sure as shit is very much responsible for orchestrating our presence there. Rumsfeld, too. They knew what they were doing.

I've read that we currently have about 10,000 Americans still over there. The Brits have about 3,000.

(take with a full grain of salt) unconfirmed reports are the Taliban are pulling people from their homes in Kabul and slaughtering them. Suspected Afghan collaborators? No reports yet of any Americans harmed.

Those 10,000 are not including troops, right? I can hardly believe we have that many over there still.
