Lol.  Saw this right as I was muting you.  I'm not "afraid" to meet anyone from here, nor am I embarrassed by anything.  I just don't see the need to meet anyone from a message board in real life.  Not my thing these days.

It is kinda lame. Rather just keep internet friends internet friends.

Another fucking example of the NY umps not understanding their fucking jobs.  It’s frustrating as shit.

You never played this game, did you? You’re taught not to reach back even if you missed the tag unless you know for sure you can get it.  It was the reach back that caused the safe call in the first place, more than likely.

Don’t be a jackass.  They have a job.  It’s to determine if there is enough visual evidence to overturn the call on the field based on clear and convincing evidence.  I’m watching the game on a 15 foot screen and I don’t know if he was tagged.  He may have avoided it.  The catcher reached back again which is a huge sign he didn’t feel a tag.  The point is that they tend to apply a “what would I have called had I been there” standard.  That isn’t the rule.  The call should have been upheld.  Had he been called out on the play then it also should have been upheld.

That’s you crying.  The angels announcers thought they’d overturn it, I thought he got tagged, and most importantly New York thought he was tagged.  Win some lose some.  Move on.

I don't know that it's necessarily "lame," but I find it odd that anyone who thinks someone who DOESN'T want to meet up "IRL" is afraid of something or is trying to hide something.  Back in my 20s, I moderated Brian Michael Bendis' (comic book writer) official message board.  I met a few folks from there and still keep in touch with a couple.  But things change over time.  I use this board to pass the time during the day and during games.  Unfortunately, there are some pretty divisive personalities on here (and I'm sure some would put me in that bucket), and I just have zero interest in associating with people like that in real life these days.  No big deal.  I genuinely hope the people who attend the meet-ups have a great time.

Lots of the guys on here are friends offline.  You want to talk shit about people making friends?

You like to argue don’t you.  Some people like to meet people they interact with on boards, some don’t.  He doesn’t.  Why is that talking shit about making friends.
