Happy 4th of July

Some of you may be going to the game, hanging at home, going to fireworks shows, bbqing and drinking the day away. Whatever you chose I hope it is a restful and enjoyable day for all Angelswin members.

I'm smoking some baby backs ribs right now to take over to my Brother's house where he has a view of the fireworks display tonight.

Family, food and fireworks could happen more often if we lived in the Midwest with 24/7 fireworks stands.

Same to you, @Blarg (and everyone else).

It's so nice to have baseball back. Last 4th of July just wasn't the same without it. I've already had a Carolina Slaw Dog for lunch and watched Jaws (both are 4th-of-July traditions for me). The beer will wait a couple of hours until first pitch of the Angels game.

Damn. I'm not a big fan of sweet slaw but you could hand me one and I'd try it. Pretty disappointed to see that Slaw Dog in Pasadena closed during the pandemic. They had 20 different types of dogs and condiments and made it worth the drive.

When they first opened, I went there more than 10 times in the first two months. But the prices went up and portions went down, and then Dog Haus Biergarten opened and I never returned to Slaw Dogs.

Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind.

Mankind. That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests.

Perhaps it’s fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice: “We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!”

I can hardly move. St Louis ribs, baby back ribs, tri tip, potato salad, Cole slaw, corn salad, caeser salad, berry cobbler, birthday cake, pecan pie cups, beer, beer and more beer and the Angels won.

Happy 4th everyone.

It’s your birthday? Or do white people make birthday cakes for America on July 4th?
