Celebrity Sightings in the Airport Edit: And other public places

Recommended Posts

What celebrities have you seen while traveling through an airport?

I've seen...

Josh Lucas and he was with his now ex-wife - Jessica Ciencin Henriquez

Erik Estrada

Bill Walton

Jeff Hornacek

Sugar Ray Leonard - He was on the same flight as me... when I walked past him in first class, I said "Hey Champ!" and he gave me fist pump.

I thought I'd limit it to the airport... but you guys do what you want to do (like you wouldn't anyway)...

my brother and i saw wilt chamberlain when i was in high school.

saw stevie wonder (but he didn't see me).

flew with the washington capitols from st. louis to lax. talked with a few of them while waiting around, mostly todd krygier. nice guys. dino ciccarelli was with the team then and they were playing a prank on people. they attached a fishing line to a $10 bill then put it in the walkway. whenever someone bent over to pick it up, one of the players would yank the fishing line and the bill would fly out of the persons' grasp. they ROARED with laughter each time they did it, and it was hilarious to watch. after we landed al iafrate went outside and smoked, which always strikes me as odd behavior for an athlete.

bono flew on the same flight as my wife and daughter once to kansas city. he stopped to talk to my daughter as he entered the plane when he saw her holding a stuffed animal. he was pleasant to everyone.

my wife once flew with tony bennett. said he was kind of a diva. she also sat next to ray parker, jr. (ghostbusters theme song). he was pleasant to everyone.

This is very specific. I don't think I've ever seen a celebrity while traveling.

I think at LAX they have their own entrance. I was in the restroom one time there and I overheard a couple of the workers talking about escorting Jennifer Aniston through the special section.

The closest I ever got to a celebrity was driving through San Francisco. My dad was driving, I was in the passenger seat, and we were stopped at an intersection. Barry Bonds was driving a Tesla in the lane directly to the right of me, his window down. When he saw us noticing him, he rolled his (tinted) window up.

Hopefully you were wearing an Angels cap. If not then talk about missed opportunity .

we were flying back from orlando and had to change planes in dallas. two of the guys i sing with went to the men's room and robert horry used the urinal between them. it was definitely an awkward place to talk, but they said hello and he chatted with them for a bit.

Thought of another one...

We were at the smaller terminal for private planes at Long Beach airport.  My wife and her dad were going up in the Airship when they were around.  I saw a tall girl in the terminal with a small dog and didn't think much about it.  I later learned it was Paris Hilton.  I didn't recognize her at the time.

He cut me off in the parking lot of Tempe Diablo. Prick.

last time i was in houston, some moron ran over my foot with his suitcase and didn't say a thing about it. it was lou ferrigno. i chose not to confront him about it.

I saw Lou Ferrigno in front of the UCLA book store years ago... He was huge.

And now we've entered the non-airport zone...

Ok... so beyond the airport (but excluding large venues like sporting events or concerts)...

Mel Harris (from the show Thirty Something) on Main Street in Seal Beach

The late, Jack Haley in a restaurant having breakfast with his family in Seal Beach

Gene Anthony Ray (Leroy Johnson in the movie Fame) at Jerry's Deli in Los Angeles

Kate Jackson - In an ice cream shop in Westwood

Wilt Chamberlain playing volleyball in the Women Gym at UCLA

John Laroquette (Night Court) in a post office in Los Angeles off Beverly Blvd.

Ted Danson and Mary Steemburgen at a Mexican restaurant in Santa Monica

Gene Autry being driven on the 5 Fwy, probably heading to the stadium during rush hour.

Those are the ones that come immediately to mind.

Another random sighting...

Ken Korach, the PBP guy for the A's radio broadcasts.  He was jogging in Chicago (A's were in town to play the White Sox). I called out to him and he stopped... I knew him from a time when I worked for San Jose State Athletics and he did our football and basketball games (pre Oakland A's days).  He didn't remember me though...

I saw Mike Trout at Angel Stadium before. He was standing around near center field. I think he was working so I didn't want to bother him.
