Yeah, it fucked him up pretty bad, but the bear left after two sessions biting and clawing him.  He walked a mile to get cell phone reception half alive and they airlifted him to Salt Lake City from Jackson, WY.  He sent me photos of his back. It was just raw flesh. He's basically 100% now though.  I'm planning a trip to visit him in Oregon in a couple of months for a weekend of beer and football.

We were at a rustic furniture store in Jackson a few years after and there was a stuffed grizzly and I asked him to take a funny picture next to it and he got pissed.
