Such an odd trade.  Definitely an upgrade batting over Cole.  Rengifo isn't anything special, so no loss there.  Eppler really going for the a 8-6 win is just as good as a 4-2 win.

I don't dislike the trade.  Joc is a very good players.  If one year of Joc is worth 6 years of Rengifro.  I would be happy with the trade if Joc is enough of an impact player to help is into the playoffs.  However our pitching still sucks so I don't know if this one year of Joc is worth it.

That's sort of my point.  Anyone is "an option" at any position.  Doesn't mean it's smart or will happen.  Pederson was an unmitigated disaster at 1B last year.

Bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.  Marsh has played 96 games at AA.  Adell 27 games at AAA.  I have high hopes for Adell, but he is only 20.  Could be a year or 2 before he slots in to the MLB.  By then, Upton will have a year remaining.  But IMO, Marsh's numbers aren't really eye opening.  His big numbers were in Rookie with a .944 OPS.  And it's been going down at each level since.
