Why the F would the Dodgers trade Alex Verdugo for Price and a one year rental of Betts???

Verdugo is a stud and under club control.  Betts at best gives you one year and Price is a train wreck waiting to happen.

This move smells of desperation to satisfy a fan base that is pissed they haven't made any movies this off-season.

After striking out on Rendon, Strasburgh, Cole, and others.  You knew the Doggies were going to make a splash some way.  Too bad the Doggies don't cheat as much as the Red Sox and Betts won't know what pitches are going to come.

Maybe, but Verdugo was a 3.6 WAR player with just over 100 games played last year.  He could easily be a 6+ WAR player next season.  He is the type of young and cheap player you keep.  You sure as hell don't trade him for a rental.
