I used to hate the contact play, but these stats are very convincing.

I've just decided that I now like the contact play, because of how angry it makes people.

This season we were pretty good at the no-contact play. We were probably one of the best.

He has it on good authority that Pujols will be retiring after the 2021 season.

Wonder if it would be equally effective if, instead of a fixed schedule, it was more of a variable schedule where runners didn't "always" go.  Seemed too predictable. 

Whatevs though.  Was never an issue for me.

It appears many people here will not like the return of Mike Scioscia in hip glasses and flashier sound bites.

Ausmus was a conservative, station to station manager in Detroit too. I know sabr says one thing, but the data and common sense say another. 

Maddon is a much more exciting manager. He's better at clubhouse cohesiveness, his  lineups get pretty wacky, like Scioscia, and he gives his players the freedom to use their instincts. This sometimes forces some outs and it also sometimes wins ball games.

I'd much rather leave it up to the players skill set, instincts and experience rather than a predetermined game script to win a ball game.
