He's been...fine.  Like any other manager, he's mixed good moves with questionable ones but, if Upton, Simmons and Heaney stay healthy, the starting rotation approaches an average of 6 IP quality innings and BP performs, he will be a "good" manager because that's how it works.

It would not shock me to see Cozart shifted to 60 day DL so Rengifo can be sent down to AAA to get everyday at bats and to keep Tovar as the back up MIFer/on the 40 man roster..

That is something we havent seen in a decade.  Its probably because we finally have depth to make the moves.

That list is so bad. Eppler needs to step his shit up when it comes to MLB acquisitions via FA.

the right decision would have been passing.  Better alternative were few and far between.  There were maybe half a dozen guys to guess right on.

I still think these decisions were measured gambles that would at least give them solid data on whether or not their methods have any real merit. Just look at these as a few of the light bulbs that Edison tried that finally got him to the one that worked

Harvey and Cahill were signed as stopgap solutions to give the kids some more time to develop, and thus why only a one year deal for each (hope y’all read that in your captain obvious voice). It shouldn’t be a problem to jettison these two pretty quickly.

Cozart will be tougher to deal with since his contract runs through next year. The success of both Fletcher and La Stella has made Cozart completely expendable. It would be a backwards move to trade La Stella and put Cozart back into the lineup once he’s cleared to play. I’d trade or DFA Cozart ASAP.
