Funny, as much as I hate the three batter rule I had the exact same thought in that moment. Maybe we can compromise and say, if a pitcher faces less than 3 batters the new pitcher only gets 2 warm up tosses, or something disadvantageous.

Yeah, oh well. He went 7 innings last time out after the opener. Was hoping for more of the same. One more inning and it would have been equivalent to a quality start (6ip, 3 er).
