Meanwhile, Cole continues to kick arse.   ERA excluding the two starts is now under 1.40.

He has to have a key pen role to start the 2019 season.

Robles is intriguing too.   His command is certainly better than Anderson’s, although it can escape him occasionally.

Cole, Robles, Buttrey, and Alvarez is a good start towards a solid pen.   Need one veteran mentor who still has it.  Robertson anyone?

are some people actually bitching about Barria getting pulled? if so, you guys are dolts.

he threw 81 pitches in 4.2 innings. for God's sake. do the f'n math. what were you hoping to see, a 155-pitch, 10-walk no-hitter?

i hope Scioscia is gone just so we don't have to be subjected to the constant idiocy he brings out in some of you guys.

tdawg hates you.

LOL

I wasn’t even thinking about the 6th inning, and get the pitch count limit thing.    Just wanted to see him get one more out, so he qualifies for the win.

It wan’t like any of those walks were 4 pitch ones.   Four of the five walks in the 4th and 5th innings were on full count pitches.

AO, would you feel this way if it was CJ Wilson pitching?

Sosh obviously thought he couldn’t get another out without damage so bye bye.

You guys are still talking like winning last night's game mattered.

Yes, Scioscia is going to play for the win every night. But it was a 5-0 game. Not a 1-0 game.

Barria is a control pitcher who clearly had something wrong with his control last night. I'd have rather seen him try to finish the 5th. But who gives a F*ck the game is over and we won and we're still arguing over this dumb shit like a bunch of ball-slapping asslickers.

Jesus Christ you guys are stupid assholes.

Barria’s command in 2018 was better than Nibs’ ever was here.

But, yes, I might even have kept Nibs in to face one more batter tops.   If the batter walks, it’s still a shutout and a red hot Cole coming in to pitch.   If the batter even homers, it’s still a 2 run lead and a red hot Cole coming in to pitch.

Wilson had a lower BB9 in his last season than Barria this year. He also pitched more innings in fewer games.

You believe what you want to.

Hmm, a 34 year old veteran and a 21 year old rookie. Clearly these comparisons are fair and not based on butt poop.

Like Strad, I hope for the opposite.
