Angels P/DH Shohei Ohtani named AL Rookie of the Month

Shohei Ohtani, the Angels’ two-way rookie sensation, was named the American League Rookie of the Month for April, MLB announced on Wednesday.

Through 12 games as a hitter, Ohtani hit 4 HRs and added 12 RBI

As a pitcher, Ohtani has struck out 26 batters in four starts (2-1 0verall). He’s surrendered only nine walks and 14 hits.

Impressive that he has played in only 16 of the Angels 29 games this season and still won ROTM for April. That's "Two-way Shohei" for you.

It still blows my mind to think about all he accomplished in the Angels' first month+ of the season.  It was a pleasure watching history unfold.  It was special in so many ways.  I feel blessed to have had the chance to see a lot of it in person.  I can't wait to see what he does next.
