according the broadcast this was his first start. I guess they’re just being cautious.

Barria is starting his second game of the year, the first game he pitched 2 innings. It’s still early in the season and he isn’t stretched out.

I'm okay pulling Barria.  Keep in mind he only pitched 2 innings in his first start in AAA due to rain.  Protect the kid's arm, don't push him.  He had an excellent first outing, something to be very proud of.

We were carrying 10 relievers for a few days and have 9 today.  I am not overly concerned about burning them out.  There's enough of them to absorb the extra workload we currently have.  After this game, I imagine Barria is optioned back to AAA and either Heaney or Tropeano takes his place on the roster, so we'll have 9 relievers for another game, too.

Fletcher is saying he’s on only 3 days rest.  Scoscia is making the right call here.  It’s April 11th.  Real nice 1st outting.

I’ve gotta admit. I was definitely a guy that was not a fan of Marte.  He’s making me look pretty wrong.  What else is new.  Lol.  Hope he keeps it up.

Pull what guy?  I imagine Schimpf gets optioned when Kinsler is activated.  In fact, I am thinking we rest either Cozart of Simmons tomorrow, with Kinsler starting at 2B and Valbuena at 3B.
