I saw them live for the first time in '79. The only band I saw play that matched their energy on stage was AC/DC. I still have at least 20 of their songs in my regular rotation

I had that album on 8-track in my '69 Nova.

I've owned this on 8-track, album, cassette, CD and iTunes download. 

I can remember being in middle school and going out to the far end of the playground during lunch break.  We'd bring a backpack that had a small cassette player in it and play our favorite tapes.  When we got this one, we played it for 3 to 4 months straight.  We were trying to wrap our heads around what we were hearing on Eruption.  "Is that a guitar?!  What the hell is he doing?!?!"  It didn't sound like anything Jimmy Page ever played.  Did sound like Eric Clapton.  Didn't even sound like Jimi Hendrix.  Was it synthesizers?  

I love that I was a young kid, just discovering music, when this was released.

Finally saw Van Halen in concert at Staples Center in June 2012, same evening the Kings were playing game 4 of the SC Finals in New Jersey.  Eddie's son Wolfgang had a Kings jersey on as he performed.     David Lee Roth performed with them for the first time in many years on that tour.
