Great outing Jerome!

You did your mom proud. Keep up the great outings. The Angels REALLY need it. But I felt Sosh went to the pen a bit early... but that's another topic.

 

Heck, even Hawk Harrelson was impressed with the outing.

Jerome's not the most talented or athletic guy, but he goes out and gives us some big balled performances like today, good to see.

He hasn't looked too great as a starter overall, but he definitely did well tonight.

Good job, had some struggles but minimized the damage.  More than you can say about 90% of the starts by our SPs this season.  Hope he can keep it going.  Richards looks pretty good in the pen.

Yeah i thought they should have kept him in longer, at least for the last out of the 7th. I know Scoscia doesn't want his pitch count getting to high, but taking a chance with this bullpen is very risky. Its worked out so far though so can't really complain!

Guys like Jerome are incredibly valuable.  He came in and threw 6 innings in relief in that debacle with Oakland and then switches to a SP and throws a gem.

Interesting that he got all those fly balls today. He's usually a ground-ball pitcher.

 

Whatever, he got the job done. A big throw by Hamilton helped him.

Awesome outing by Jerome. 

 

His stuff is there. His low 90's sinker, four-seamer that gets up to 94-MPH, changeup and solid breaking ball is more than enough to be a solid starter on any team. 

 

Had a great time sitting with his wife and kids last weekend when they were up in Seattle.

I love how Scioscia gets any blame for taking him out "early" according to some posters, since if he's left him in and blown the lead, people would be all over Scioscia for leaving him in there too long. Scioscia may be not perfect, but on this forum, he also can't win.

Have to remember that Jerome hasn't been stretched out yet, and thus 92 pitches was getting to his max, especially in a one run game.

He is a consummate pro, a great teammate to have on the staff, and has the stuff to succeed at the MLB.

It wasn't a bad call to pull him early. Jerome has looked shaky as a starter, but looked solid tonight. Scioscia made the right move in pulling him. 

 

If we can get outtings like this for Jerome instead of the 3 innings looking solid and then get jacked up after that, it is a major plus.

I am happy for Jerome. He pitched a great game last night. He is a man that is easy to root for. Good character and does what is needed for the sake of his team.

Jerome is definitely easy to root for. .  not the most talented guy, but he gives it everything has when he's out there.

 

He was money last night; hopefully he settles into the starter role and we keep him there. I'd sure rather see him out there every fifth game when Weave comes back than Blantana.

 

Our bullpen was good again as well. .  that's a trend I'd like to see continuing.

Jerome did well, as well as CJ tonight. Both guys gave the offense a chance to win it. Can't help but think moving Hamilton down further would be a good thing.
