Trumbo used to murder his hands, sending Ebel to the bench ultimately.

Trumbo was truly merciless, you could see Ebel doing his best to sort of shrink away from the contact to lessen the blow to little success.

LOL! I may be old, but my memory of Ebel serves me the same way. 

The day Albert runs through an Ebel stop sign might provide enough time for Fox to sneak in one of their five second commercials.

Actually I consider Roenicke and Ebel to be very good 3B coaches.  So moving Ebel to 3B is fine with me.  The bench coach position is critical, especially given that this is the last year of Scioscia's current contract.  If he or the team decides that 2018 is it for him, then the bench coach will have first shot at the manager's position in my opinion.  Maybe that is why this positioning is taking place.  On the other hand maybe there are few who could effectively fill the 3B coaching slot any better than Ebel, and there could be lots of candidates for bench coach.  These discussions are not going to be public in any way, until a decision is fully made, so any speculation here is just that - speculation.
