Interesting take on Ohtani today.

The draw here is clear: the best player in Japan joining the same outfield as the best player in America, and the third wheel being a guy as good as Justin Upton, is almost too good a hook to resist. Beyond that, though, the Angels need pitchers and hitters, they need them now while they still have Mike Trout, and they’re both paying off some anchor free agent contracts from years past and don’t have much in the way of trading chips. 

It’s also another case where, like the White Sox, the Angels would get the rare opportunity to show up a more beloved, more successful crosstown rival that just got done with a historic season and a World Series appearance. It’s unclear whether the Angels have the drive or capacity to pull off signing Ohtani, but he should immediately be their number one target this offseason — especially given that so far, division rival Seattle wants it more.

I watched this game in the infield seat on the 1st base side.　The picture I took at that time is used as a profile photo.
