That finally explained what happened to the guy they escorted out. Fox wouldn't go into it but that was what visiting teams fear, some fan losing his shit and injuring a player.

This guy didn't even get his feet on the ground before being pinned to the wall. If the series comes back to LA the PD is going to have to park a couple officers in that pen. Even though security was there quickly, it looks like they could be vulnerable if more than one jumps into the cage match at a time.

Tough guy wanted to fight a security guy in the pen.

Darvish's start is crucial for the Dogs. A win would take a lot of the air out of Houston's sails.

This could be a classic series with the momentum shifting back and forth, just like Game 2. I expect more big moments from both teams.

Not so sure Dave Roberts would use the word crucial.  Of course that is optimal but I bet he's ready to hook him and burn through his bullpen knowing that Kershaw is up next.  Going 1-2 in Houston still leaves them in a good position with the final two in LA.  Looks like Kershaw will pitch game 7 and if Verlander pitches in that game it will be on 3 days rest.

Somebody wise once said.................

"If it boils down to the bullpens, I like the Astros chances of scoring on the Dodger bullpen better than the Dodgers chances of scoring on the Astros bullpen. I just think the Astros have significantly better hitters..........."

So far, I'm 50% right, over two games.

Looks like this is going to be a great Series. Hope Astros can get to Darvish. But he has traditionally pitched well in Houston. At least the Astros hitters are somewhat familiar with him.

Last night Roberts used his bullpen for the win, going with his best arms and then was stuck with his bottom guys to fill out innings 10-11. The Astros were playing from behind so Hinch held back his best guys.

The only reason it worked out for the Astros is Jansen blew the win, something he just doesn't do. The Dodgers still scored 3 runs off the best the Astros have. The Astros picked up two off of the last resort the Dodgers had for the win. I doubt we see this play out the same way again.

As for the Astros being familiar with Darvish. At Minute Maid Park his career ERA is 2.16.

The whole "yank the starter after 4 or 5 innings" trend in the postseason is idiotic. There was no reason for Hill to be pulled after 4 innings.

I totally agree and I thought he was pitching well.  I thought to myself that it might backfire and I'm glad it did.

Seems to me I mentioned Darvish's competence at Minute Maid. And the Astros won two games against the Yankees, scoring LESS than 2.16 runs per game.

Runs given up by Dodger bullpen last night...............6.

Runs given up by Astro bullpen................3.

Let's see how it plays out.

One thing I noticed is that Jansen came in throwing 96+. By the time he got to the ninth, he was down to 93. He may not bounce back that well, even after a travel day off. 44 pitches over two games is a lot for a closer.

Do those numbers include the 2011 Astros 106 losses, 2012 Astros 107 losses, 2013 111 losses, 2014 92 losses. This a much better  team.

Davish this season at Minute Maid Park 1.29 era.

Last season 0.00 era.

Darvish joined the Rangers as a full time starter in 2012. So he pitched against them in three of those four bad Astro seasons.

Over 2016-17, he ended up going 1-2 against the Astros, with an ERA around 3.2. So he didnt do as well, once the Astros became "good". He did not pitch at all in 2015.

The Astros can definitely get to him.
