Latest hike.  Surprisingly, this is the first time I've done the Griffith Park trails.  And it's like right in my backyard.  I think I could see my house from one of the peaks.  Anyways, @Tank, A hike you should consider.  Maybe not the route I took, but it's a nice hike once you get to the top level.

I try to make it up to Dante's view once a week.

I've managed to urban hike from my apartment to the old zoo a couple of times. Not quite as rewarding of a trek.

I decided to do Griffith Observatory to Wisdom Tree 2-3 times a week.  So I pass by Dante's View on my way up the hill.  Mt. Chapel Trail and that part from Mt. Lee to Wisdom Tree is the best part, since you are on an actual trail and not a fireroad or regular road.  Cauhenga peak still kicks my ass each time.

I never make it up to Wisdom Tree, lol. I usually tap out at the peak right there around Dante's... forget what it's called. For me it's more about getting off my ass than actually going on the long hike.

Hollywood Peak.  That's the toughest part of the hike.  That hill from Observatory or Carousel to Hollywood peak is no joke.  Unless you go the easy way.  I've been getting better on that Observatory hill.  Have been willing my way up it without any breaks.  Actually can barely get to Wisdom tree with no breaks.  That last Cahuenga Peak hike is a killer.

That's kind of why I decided to keep doing Griffith.  It's close, and there are enough challenging sections to help keep me semi in shape for the hard mountain hikes.

You're damn right I go the easy way. I thought about going straight up once but I was exhausted just thinking about it.

If I'm feeling extra energetic I'll jog up, lol.

Latest hike.  Lava Tubes.  About 19 miles out of Baker.  15 miles of road, 4 miles of dirt.  @Tank  You and your creeky knees could do this one.  It's pretty much a slightly uphill par 5.
