Nah trading for Verlander at the cost it took to get him + what he's still owed is something the Angels would be regretting. Phillips and Upton cost next to nothing. Phillips is a FA after the season and likely gone and Upton could opt out and if he doesn't then the Halos got themselves an above average LFer for the next few years
