IGNORED

Apparently the Angels have a system worth keeping secret

That's a euphemism for saying it was a bad move.  Remember, Scioscia never admits to mistakes.

Seriously though, I cringe whenever one of our top sluggers is told to steal bases, especially Trumbo, who is not well accustomed to doing that.  Nevermind the fact his SB success rate is really poor.

Way too much to lose if he gets injured on a slide into 2B.

they lost me in that game early in the season when they sent a crippled pujols on a straight steal of second. hurt to watch and made me wonder who the genius was that thought pujols was well enough to run hard.

the baserunning plan on this team appears to be: just run until you're tagged out or until you need a wheelchair to get from base to base.

i've watched baseball for a long time and with the love of the contact play, use of straight steals and bunting smacks of a speed and defense team philosophy is being rammed down the throats of a power hitting, station to station team.

a change is needed something bad.

To be fair the Pujols shenanigans is probably mostly on Pujols. he has a history of running through stop signs and running himself into outs on the basepaths, even back in St Louis.

LOL I well remember that, but I am thinking that Pujols made that decision on his own. It was a dumb one, to be sure, but in this instance I have to say that decision was all on him.
