Team Batting is Brutal

Without Trout, we'd be batting .228 which would be 29th place in MLB, barely ahead of Kansas City's .227

More disappointing since the Angels had Pujols, Valbuena, Calhoun, Cron, Maybin, and Escobar all cmong off of nice years with the bat in 2016. Royals did lose Morales to the Jays in the offseason, so they were expected to be worse.

I guess the worrisome thing to me is there isn't a lot of reason to think things can get significantly better.....some better maybe but not a lot....Getting Escobar back will help....But if Scioscia is going to play some combo of Espinosa, Pennington and Fontana, not likely 2b will be much better.....Cron could go on a hot streak, as he is prone to do, and give us a serviceable 5 or 6 hitter at 1b....and I guess Valbuena couldn't be much worse...Maybin and Revere can be better (Maybin has been pretty good for the last week or 10 days)....Beyond that, it is what it is....

Cron could also go into a two-month slump, which he is prone to do.

This team and its offense (outside of Trout) is very frustrating.

I guess we shouldn't expect any improvement from Trout, eh?

Slacker..
