Suggestions on how to really improve MLB

I'll start.

Get rid of the pitching spot and let each team build a mechanical pitching machine of its own design, within certain specifications common to all teams. Just run that sucker out to the mound and let 'er rip.

It's obvious that human beings can no longer pitch in the majors without their arms or elbows falling off, so just end the misery once and for all.

Well, that has about as much chance as the one the Commish said should be considered today...........

But, that certainly should be an issue we look at, as well.”

Have players, managers & coaches grade the umpires. Worst 10% get sent down to AAA and top 10% of AAA umps get the call. If the ones sent down make it back to the majors eventually, and finish in the bottom 10% again, they're done.

Have the computers grade the best balls & strike callers. Have them work behind the plate 50% of the time instead of 25% and give them a pay raise to compensate for the added workload.

I like it. Rather like relegation in the EPL. MLB umpiring should not be a job for life. Some of them are just not good at it.

When the relief pitcher arrives to the mount in the middle of the inning, pat him on the butt and put ball back in play.  No 8 warm up pitches.He just threw +20 warm up pitches in the bullpen!

Along those same lines, once a batter steps into the box, he is in there unless there is an injury or some kind of equipment malfunction. This business of stepping out and calling time after every pitch is where a lot of the delays in games come.

To speed up play, make it to where 3 balls = walk; and 2 strikes = strikeout. It should speed up play making pitchers throw strikes. It should make it to where pitchers throw less pitches, so they can go deeper into games, making pitching changes less frequent.

Part of the lineup at the beginning of the game should include two pinch hitters. They must be used and used in the order they are listed.

Also required are two bunts.  You can bunt as much as you want but you must bunt two times minimum in the game.

For those that love the cat and mouse strategy, this would be pretty interesting.
