If there is a legit concern over their water supply, and if the pipeline was to run over legitimately sacred ground (and not just "this is Indian ground and all Indian ground is sacred ground"), then yeah, they have a beef and should pursue their claims against government.

This is a great point. Land has always been taken by acquisition. Rarely are the victors so gracious as to give the land back and grant full autonomous status. Yet another example of the greatness that is America.

Interesting story taking place fairly close to me.

Most people close to it like you are taking their horses.  Personally I would take my tractor to the protest but appears horses are faster.
