Marte could be hitting 1.000 with a homer every AB and Scioscia was still going to platoon him with Nava, when Nava was activated....I just hope Marte gets AB's over Robinson....

Marte will get his shot again in September when we're out of the race.  Just like Petit, Choi, Cowart, Buss....

cmon now.  We're only 7 games back of the 2nd wild card.  We just need to pass 8 teams.  I am sure Weave will throw 1k shutouts several more times this year.  

 

kidding aside, you need to play your regulars as often as possible in order that they might accumulate some trade value.  you never know.  one or two guys who are sleepers in some teams minor league system may end up a useful major leaguer.  Like giving up Michael Clevinger for Vinnie Pestano, obtaining Trevor Gott in the Street trade, or Rasmus for Downs.  None of those guys are gonna knock the baseball world over, but do what you can to infuse this org with as much upside talent as possible.  Maybe Nava or Petit get you a AA reliever with upside etc etc.  

Don't worry, we're gonna suck next year too.  They'll be plenty of time for auditions

That's what I'm hoping for at the trade deadline, that we'll find a way to keep Escobar but trade some guys like Nava, Chacin, Santiago or Lincecum and get a few Michael Clevingers in the process.

Apparently the guy we gave up for him has added 6MPH in velocity and is now throwing 95MPH for the Braves in instructional league too. So, there's that.
