Come on guys we knew the deal coming into this, our platoon is half injured and half sucking, Heaney is hurt, bullpen has sucked, Pujols sucks, Trout is slumping, Richards isn't stepping up to be the ace, etc., etc...

I know it's frustrating but we knew going in this was going to be a .500 team unless everybody played above career norms. It sucks facing reality. There was a completely different vibe to this team during spring training, you could feel it in the air at the games.

I know it's frustrating but we knew going in this was going to be a .500 team unless everybody played above career norms. It sucks facing reality. There was a completely different vibe to this team during spring training, you could feel it in the air at the games.

The vibe is still there ... starting the season off facing many great pitchers may have taken a toll mentally on the teams offense.

It's only natural to try to evaluate the team after 15 games into 162 games season. This season will be a dogfight... should be fun.

The issue to me isn't so much that they didn't sign a legit LFer, it's more that they didn't do anything to address improving the team long term. In fact they only thing they have done is put an extremely small amount of money into an analytics department that will help them better identify between guys like Nava, Gentry, and Choi in the future. 

 

Following this team the last 6+ years has been pretty frustrating, and there is no end in sight to that frustration.

What's also funny is that Scioscia puts Nava/Gentry in the 2 spot, typically where the best hitter in the line up is supposed to be. These guys are not top of the order hitters.

 

I think someone told Scioscia that we actually signed Jason Heyward to play OF, so naturally he's a good fit to bat 2nd.

3 straight offseasons of not spending money has taken its toll.....we've made some trades, which don't add payroll....some have worked out (Conger, Trumbo, Howie)....some really haven't (Joyce, Grichuk in the Freese trade)....If your minor league system is awful and you aren't spending money, improvement isn't very likely...and things don't appear likely to change soon....

Cespedes was the one I wanted out of all of them. His cannon of an arm was always on point in Anaheim. Would've been fun, oh well.

This was the one guy who I wanted to see us bring in. I believe that he would have made a huge difference in the lineup, and he is solid defensively.

I was pushing to sign Cespedes since the playoffs, but what do I know.

Charles162 (aka Charlesangels and CharlesSBC) wanted Fowler, Chapman, Crumpton and Todd Frazier. And he wanted Sherman Johnson and Jett Bandy to be regulars in the lineup.  Remember, Ace?
