It seems to me that someone making $16k a year is going to have a tough time forking over another $416 a year in taxes when that money would be more helpful for themselves than others.

If you're only making $16k a year, you're within striking distance of the poverty line. Why take more money from this person?

That's simply not true, though. I have said many times that such "progressive" ideas like income tax have, as you say, "negative outcomes," but are necessary evils - given our current system. I am not a big fan of Obamacare, see problems with welfare in general, etc etc. But the alternative offered by the right ranges from completely unrealistic to horrible.

don't you think our income is taxed enough? giving more money to those that have never exhibited a propensity to curb exorbitant waste is just more of the same crap everyone is sick of from our career politicians.

Besides the wall he said he is going to do something, just nobody knows what that something is.
