Both the Republican and Democratic parties are beholden to the ultra-wealthy corporations that pay for their re-election campaigns.

The Democrats, Hillary Clinton in particular, started the whole, basket of deplorables line of thinking about the rust belt and Mid West. They have been running with that since, claiming those that never went to college shouldn't have a voice.

Actor Terrence Howard reportedly said it is "immoral for the United States government to charge taxes to the descendants of slaves" after being ordered to pay nearly $1 million in back taxes.

According to a report from the Philadelphia Inquirer on Thursday, a federal judge in Philadelphia ordered the Academy Award-nominated actor to pay $903,115 in back taxes, penalties and interest.

"For more than a year, the 54-year-old star of the TV hit ‘Empire,’ whose last listed address was in Plymouth Meeting, rebuffed IRS efforts to collect $578,000 in income taxes it says he failed to pay between 2010 and 2019," the Inquirer reported.

"Four hundred years of forced labor and never receiving any compensation for it," the actor allegedly said in the voicemail. "Now you have the gall to try and prosecute and charge taxes to the descendants of a broken people that you are responsible for causing the breakage."

Must be a liberal judge

Former NYU, Yale official pleads guilty to stealing money meant for equity programs
Cindy Tappe embezzled millions in taxpayer-funded grants NYU was supposed to disperse

An academic equity official has pleaded guilty to embezzling millions from New York University and using the money for personal expenses and an $80,000 pool at her luxe Connecticut home from funds that were supposed to go to women and minority businesses.

Cindy Tappe, 57, pleaded guilty Monday, according to Manhattan prosecutors.

After stealing the funds, she landed a new job as operations director at the Yale School of Medicine. The Ivy League school fired her after the charges became public.

As part of a plea deal, she agreed to pay back the stolen money and is expected to receive a sentence of five years of probation for a single count of second-degree grand larceny.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. As part of the plea deal, additional charges for fraud, money laundering and falsifying business records would be dropped.

I know of two couples that moved back to California within two years. They hated the humidity and lack of things to do.

Do yourself a favor and don't Google Mark Robinson the now current Republican candidate for governor in North Carolina.

Is he the guy who said black people owe white people reparations for bringing their ancestors here from Africa?

There’s absolutely no lack of things to do around Nashville

This is what I've been told. I know other families who moved to the Nashville area and enjoy it.
