Maine fisherman catches rare 'ghost lobster'

A Maine fisherman caught a rare, nearly see-through “ghost lobster” earlier this week, before throwing the translucent creature back into the ocean because it was too small.

Mike Billings caught the crustacean on Tuesday morning off the coast of Stonington, the Press Herald reported.

According to Canada Global News, the odds of pulling in a ghost lobster or albino lobster are about 100 million to 1.

However, according to the Herald this isn’t Billings first time beating the odds. In 2014 he caught a rare calico lobster and, later that same year, a lobster with one blue claw.

The ghost lobster’s look is likely due to a genetic condition called leucism, which causes a partial loss of pigmentation in an animal, resulting in white, pale and patchy coloration.

Can the lobster sing and do the MoonWalk?

Wisconsin boy rescued from sewer after firefighter spots his finger poking out of manhole

A Wisconsin boy was rescued from a storm sewer Tuesday after an eagle-eyed firefighter saw the child’s finger poking out of the manhole cover following severe weather in the area.

The 11-year-old boy was playing with his friends in a flooded drainage ditch in the Village of Harrison after heavy rain passed through the area around 6 p.m. The boy, who was not identified, got swept under the water and didn’t resurface.

Rescuers arrived at the scene and found a bystander attempting to hold on to the boy — but it was no match for the raging water. The boy was swept into a culvert that led to the storm sewer.

Rescuers were then forced to predict where the boy may be flowing through the sewer system. Deputy Fire Chief Wesley Pompa, one of the people who responded to the scene, called the village road superintendent, Bob Kesler, to help map out the system.

At one point, they were standing above a manhole about 30 feet from the ditch when Pompa spotted fingers poking through an opening in the cover.

"He was hollering and talking to us and he was able to reach up for us," Pompa said.

The boy had found air pocket just beneath the manhole cover and was hanging onto a ladder leading up to the manhole. The firefighters pried the cover open and Pompa and Kesler lifted the boy to safety.

The child, who was alert and conscious, was taken to the hospital.

"I just thank God he was alive and he'd made it that long," Pompa said. "It could have gone a million different ways but this one way it worked out for him."

Johnny Bobbitt’s lawyer says all $400,000 in GoFundMe money is gone

This is the guy that gave the $20 to help some stranger out because they didnt have money for gas.  The stranger/couple then set up a go fund me page and raised $400,000 for the guy that did the good deed.  I tell you I'm shocked that someone that couldn't fill up their car with gas misused the funds.

Hangry is now an official word.

This world has gone mad.

840 new entries this year. I'm guessing that's about double the vocal of the typical teenager.

btw, it also included ribbie as a new entry for RBI.

Amanda Peters, 26, allegedly defecated on a sheriff's deputy during her arrest early Saturday.

Woman 'defecated' on deputy to resist arrest, cops say

Police in Livingston, Kentucky, said a woman intentionally defecated on an officer to avoid being arrested.

Amanda Peters, 26, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Saturday at her home, online records showed. She had been wanted on an outstanding warrant in neighboring Rockcastle County, according to WLEX-TV.

When the homeowner let officers in, Peters reportedly locked herself in a bathroom. A responding deputy forced himself into the bathroom and arrested the woman "with force."

That's when police allege Peters "intentionally released her bowels in an upward motion and with purposeful direction at this Deputy — causing said bodily waste of land on the face, arms and legs of this Deputy."

Online records showed Peters was charged with resisting arrest, third-degree assault of an officer, identity theft of another without consent, giving an officer false identifying information and theft by unlawful taking or disposition of $10,000 or more.

Livingston is about an hour's drive southeast of Lexington.
