Rocky tossed me a baseball when I was 10.

I remember staring at his face for almost the entire game, from my third base 2nd row seat, wondering just how much chewing tobacco a grown man could actually squirrel away into his face and still talk.

He broke my concentration late in the game by tossing me the ball.

I remembered that he was a member of the Halos expansion team in 1961, as well as a coach for several seasons for the Halos.

i remember bridges having a big windmill down in the third base box to wave runners home. always entertained by it, as well as the gigantic chaw of tobacco that was ever present.

I was reading sections of Ball Four yesterday and Jim Bouton mentions that he would have preferred to see Rocky replace Rigney instead of Phillips.

I also remember the big windmill he had in the third base box.
