That's a pretty good deal for the ChiSox. Especially because I thought he'd get at least $50 million. If our farm system was a top 15 one I would've done this but he costs a draft pick

Melky preferred playing on the east coast or mid-west. As a solid switch hitter he would've fit perfect hitting 3rd in our lineup.

Well I understand that but rules have been put in place to prevent future PED usage. He would have to forfeit his salary and face much more severe consequences if he were to get caught doing it again. Melky admitted that he cheated and then apologized which was a step in the right direction.

Melky has been clean and pretty productive since he was reinstated. With the loss of Howie in our lineup I thought that Melky on the cheap would help enhance our offense. We have no idea what we will get out of Hamilton so that's another reason I mentioned Melky.

The ChiSox have improved their team in the off-season, and the Central is not a great division that figures to get a little worse for Cleveland and KC.
