He has said his game was back to where it needs to be before and not performed well at The Masters. He may make the cut, but I would be shocked if he was in contention on Sunday.

 

It's one thing to hit repetitive chip shots at a target on a practice green. I'll wait to say "he's back" until I see what he does when he has one chance at it on the course in a round of golf that counts.

niall from one direction posted a video of support for fellow irishman rory mcilroy and rumors are that he's caddying for rory today. my daughter ran into the living room practically shouting at me to record it.

Kind of a cool Masters story:

 

When in Oklahoma my cousin's husband is a huge golf nut and actually went to The Masters the year Immelman won. Him and a buddy went and I think he said paid $400 each. Long story short was he said the final group was heading to 18 and it was out of reach so him and his buddy, drunk, went wandering around. With some liquid courage they talked to some young attendant and asked how to get to Hogan's Bridge and they basically just took some back route and walked up easily as everyone was at 18 for the finish. He said they got to take it in and he even scooped out some sand from the bunker (which he still has) and then were caught. He said the good thing about it was they got a golf cart ride back to the front and didn't have to walk. They were took to some trailer that was a makeshift security headquarters, pics taken and passes revoked before being escorted out. I think he said he's technically not allowed back, but I was confused because the passes are from members so they are really the ones in trouble. While wandering around he also grabbed a patch of grass from a divot that he took home and actually kept up and maintained until he went on a business trip and his house keeper forgot to water it and it dried out.

 

Just being there would be badass, but to have some take homes from the course is one of a kind.

My FIL is still going through pancreatic cancer treatment so I sold the tickets i drew out for. I would be there right now. Hopefully i draw out again next year and he is healthy enough to go with me

Going to be in Connecticut until Friday night. Sucks missing the first two days of the Masters.

Does the watchespn app not work in Connecticut? Are there also no tv's in this far away place called connecticut?

I don't understand for a tournament as big as The Masters, why they don't televise those that are off the tee already.

 

Currently a 3-way tie for the lead at -3 between Hoffman, Rose and Henley.

 

Tom Watson is -1 through 12. Nice to see him perform well today.

It has been 27 years since someone got an ace in the official tournament, but Camilo Villegas came within inches of one on the 12th hole today.

The British Open is run by the R&A

The US Open is run by the USGA

The PGA championship and Ryder Cup is run by the PGA

 

All those organizations use the majors/ryder cup as their cash cows to fund their organizations.  

 

The Masters does not need the money.  They most likely would show less if they could just to be elite but they get continually pressured to show more.
