A pitcher who can't handle his emotions is the last thing this team needs in the postseason.

I can relate to Hector and his emotions. Hopefully time and Weaver will smooth out some of Hector's rough parts. This team needs Hector more than CJ.

Santiago is an okay guy -- but the fact remains when we acquired Hector Santiago we got a swing man pen guy -- essentially a spot starter who can pitch long relief and be a pen depth guy.

 

 

that's what we got, that's what he is.

 

we have tried to fit him into the rotation and he's pitched the way a spot starter pitches -- some decent starts and some melt-down starts.......

 

he's been inconsistent in relief.

 

no knock on Santiago -- he is what he is, he tries his best. He works hard.

 

But at the end of the day, he's a spot starter/ possible swing man who provides long relief and pen depth.

He's still young and inexperienced. He needs more time, he's got too much talent to give up and resign to the pen so quickly. This guy was the best pitcher in the rotation for over a month, you can't just give up on that.

yeah he's a bit of a head case, but so was lackey and he turned out alright. He's got the best pure stuff in the rotation outside of Richards. Some guys just need a little time to figure it out, also just like Richards.

this organization gave jeppy 12 seasons to figure it out, I hope they don't give up on this guy that quickly. Just because Baylor got a little Gatorade on him, sorry don

We gave Jeppy 12 years, but we need Santiago to figure things out in the next 12 days.
