Even season in which he's thrown a reasonably large sample size of innings he's been terrible, which started in 2008. How much more evidence of awfulness do you need? CJ has been awful since early June and previously at least serviceable since June. I'm not arguing that CJ is a disaster right now. I'm arguing that we don't have better options at the moment.

I'm not arguing he's the sole reason. But the early season struggles that have bit this team in the ass were largely covered up by his early season good pitching this year. Every year we say "if only we hadn't struggled in Apr/May" and yet we're currently ignoring a big piece of us not struggling in the first 2 months of this season.
