I kind of fall on the side of not seeing what everyone is so excited about, outside of the people who would be fan of the source material, I guess I could understand that.

I'm curious and want to see mainly because of James Gunn, but everyone keeps saying that the trailers look "bad ass" or "awesome", but it just looks like another action blockbuster with middle-of-the-road humor. I know James Gunn's sense of humor and expect it to be better/funnier than the trailers, but if I'm just judging the trailer like a lot of people I know are, I don't understand the excitement from that alone.

Never been a fan of comic books or their movies.  I can put up with Avengers or Iron Man, even though they are terrible.  But this one is like Star Fox the movie.  Looks so lame.

I'm a movie nerd but I'm pretty damned open-minded as long as the movies are good. X-Men: Days of Future Past is one of my favorite movies of the year so far. I enjoy the Marvel movies for the most part, outside of the Thor movies. Again, I'm still going to see Guardians of the Galaxy, probably on Blu-Ray (I am a snob a bit on what I actually see at the theaters, as I'll probably go see Richard Linklater's Boyhood than this, because Boyhood is likely only going to be in theaters for a short while longer), and think it will be better than the trailers are letting on. I guess I just don't see the excitement based on the trailers alone.

 

Also, I have no problem with Rocket Raccoon or even Groot for that matter, which are the two main things I hear as complaints
