You make the call: Forceout at the Plate during CIN @ PIT

Rules rules rules. He was blocking the plate. His foot was on the front part of the plate going onto the dirt. The rule says the runner should be safe. You know what I do when a rule gets in the way of an appropriate decision? I ignore the rule. He was out if not for a rule that didn't serve its purpose.

This new plate blocking rule needs to go the way of that idiotic transfer play rule.

If that had happened during an Angels game I might have taken a few months away from baseball. What a joke that rule is and replay has become. It's almost like the umps are screwing up reviews on purpose. ::crazyconspiracyhaton::

There is no other way to get a force out at home than to have one foot on the plate. IMO the runner was clearly out. Martin was not blocking the plate, even dove out of the way after making sure he had possession of the ball with a foot on the plate. You might as well take away force outs at home if you're going to overturn a play like this.

don't confuse two different issues. replay has been working fine, with very few hiccups. the new rule of plate blocking is just a bad rule. they are two different things entirely.
