My favorite scene in the film:

[Billy Jack is surrounded by Posner's thugs]

Mr. Posner: You really think those Green Beret Karate tricks are gonna help you against all these boys?

Billy Jack: Well, it doesn't look to me like I really have any choice now, does it?

Mr. Posner: [laughing] That's right, you don't.

Billy Jack: You know what I think I'm gonna do then? Just for the hell of it?

Mr. Posner: Tell me.

Billy Jack: I'm gonna take this right foot, and I'm gonna whop you on that side of your face...

[points to Posner's right cheek]

Billy Jack: ...and you wanna know something? There's not a damn thing you're gonna be able to do about it.

Mr. Posner: Really?

Billy Jack: Really.

[kicks Posner's right cheek, sending him to the ground]

RIP, Billy Jack..

The movie was cheesy, because he was one of the first independent film-makers.  He's also credited for creating the "one-man army" of Chuck Norris, Rambo, etc.

It's hard to believe it was over 40 years ago when the movie was made.

This exchange was a classic.

Bernard: Howdy! My name is Bernard Posner.

Cindy: Oh, really?

Bernard: Really.

Cindy: Is that supposed to mean something?

Bernard: Around these parts, you hear the name Posner quite a bit.

Cindy: That's very interesting. You know, you hear my name quite a bit, and not just around here either.

Bernard: No foolin'? What's your name?

Cindy: Up.

Bernard: Up? Huh-huh, that's an odd name. What's your last name?

Cindy: Yours. Up yours!

Cindy is then referred to as Little Miss Up Yours after that.

I loved that movie as a young teenager. I watched it again years later and realized how cheesy it was. Still like the song but not sure it would garner the "anthems" type following these days that it did back then. Think I will try to find it on karaoke so I can ruin for a whole new generation.

RIP it's always sad when someone dies - that said I have never seen "Billy Jack" even though I live in Prescott AZ where it was filmed and boy is this town proud of that movie
