those are academic numbers, based on athletes' GPA.

top score is 1000.

before dykes our players were idiots and did sh*tty in classroom.

i think before him they had APR of like 920s which is awful, and you can get in a lot of trouble as a program.

now they have done insanely better, which dykes was hired to do, with their scored being up to 997.

which is highest in the Pac 12.

"Martin has MBB sporting an APR of 1000" means cuonzo martin (the coach) has the men's basketball programs academic score up to 1000.

Yep. To go from being on the verge of almost certain sanctions and a ban to being best in the conference is a great achievement.

Dykes' contract has bonuses associated with academic achievement that are considerable.

It's been a solid week or so for Cal Football:

-first in APR in the conference

-#1 selection in the NFL Draft

and

-today a commit from a top ten, five star WR (choosing Cal over GA, ND and Bama) as an addition to the 2016 class

Nice.

Not a bad time at Cal, both the academics and the performance of the athletic teams are on the rise.

Granted MBB has to replace a trio of key players (Brown, Rabb, Wallace).

Rabb is staying.

We also just got a big commit from a top 50 point guard who will play in 2016.

Things are good. Rabb is poised to have a monster year.

rally how are we looking for QB this year now that goff is gone?

also are you heading up for any games this year? if you go, get tickets for the club level. its amazing at the renovated stadium. plus the food is better and they sell booze.

Here's everything you need to know about our QB situation: http://www.dailycal.org/2016/06/29/2016-cal-football-quarterback .

I'm hopeful.

I might make it out for a game this year. The home schedule is loaded: Texas, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Utah and Stanford.

What else is new, though. That's what makes Cal what it is. This is all old news conveniently re released two days before a contract is due to be renewed. The Chronicle article is severely biased.

But let's not limit discussion to the big Bears, how's the five star crew with the identical record doing?
