In regards to Sbisa, I think Fristic will be sent down (can he?). Then you would have one D-man as a healthy scratch. Possibly give Beauch a night off or two especially on the upcoming east coast swing. The problem becomes when Souray returns (Jan?). But the team by then might have another injured D-man by then, or would have had time to figure out a trade.

 

As for Belesky, he will play on the back to back nights when Teemu is given the night off.

 

So there won't be full time spots for these guys when they come back, but they will likely be on the roster. Just a healthy scratch from time to time.

 

It's nice to have a deep roster. And it will show as the season wears on.

And one other thing from last nights game.  Not really about last night.  But they showed the out of town scoreboard.  I turned to my buddy and said, remember, you are in the OC.  Sure enough, they showed the Dodger score.  It was beautiful how the crowd cheered.

I wouldn't call last nights game play awful (compare it to some games of 3 years ago). There passing wasn't as clean (too soft; too hard) as it's been, but the defense was good and Hiller played real well. I even thought the powerplay looked better than it has.

Penner update.  He briefly lost consciousnessness.  But he's under evaluation right now, and has full mobility and is walking under his own power.

This team can definitely score.  The top line was great and it was awesome to see Etem get a goal.  Defense looked pretty weak the first period.  BB had to be super pissed at them.

Penner not with the team on the trip to Toronto.  Hope he is ok.  I thought he was playing pretty well these last couple games.  That was a total cheap shot that he took.

What a game last night.  Etem's shorty was ****ing awesome!  Hopefully Penner is okay, but from how he looked on the ice he is going to be out a while IMO.

A little tidbit that ESPN kind of downplayed.

 

 

Garbutt was offered the opportunity for an in-person hearing as required by provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for any suspension that can exceed five games.

Yeah that's a clear suspension worthy hit. It's practically a what not to do video. The only thing Garbutt didn't do was cut a promo after the hit.

Though yet to be announced, #NHLDucks have summoned RW Devante Smith-Pelly from Norfolk (AHL). He's on the ACC ice for the morning skate.

 

Eric Stephens

Emerson Etem promoted to second line with Perreault and Selanne. Jakob Silfverberg dropped to fourth with Bonino and Maroon.
