Exactamente. 

Ohtani and CAA have been controlling this thing every step of the way, that's how they've operated. When word comes out, it will be definitive - either from the source directly (Ohtani or the team, much like how Atlanta and LAA usually drop news before it leaks) or from a talking head who can speak with absolute certainty like Passan often does.

Definitely not some dog and pony show or series of breadcrumb leaks and tweets.

Like I said elsewhere, though, this is just the way it is.  It's pretty unrealistic for anyone at his level of fame to expect quiet on something like this.  Not saying it's a good thing that there's so much interest and attention on every move he makes, but it's not the least bit surprising.
