did getting free housing enhance his performance? is this kind of violation enough to strip him of his award?

bonds and others used substances that made their performance on the field better, while bush did not.

But both are considered illegal (at least for Bush it was at the time) and against the rules.

Did Pete Rose gambling on baseball make him a better baseball player?  No.  But it’s illegal and against the rules.  He’s still banned.
