Been meaning to comment on this for a bit.

 

I've slowly gotten rid of cable the past year. Going in to this year I had to download the Ballys app to watch games.

It is literally, no exaggeration, the worst app I've ever had to use. It's fucking horrible.

Literally every 3rd time or so I turn it on, it makes me go through this login process. (Password, provider, etc etc). The first login literally never works. So it always takes like 5 mins or so to turn the game on.

The audio is always lagged like a second behind the video for some reason. And the video quality is shitty.

All in all it's crap. Really hope they make a deal with someone else.

It's a shitty app. 

Just waiting for the day the stupid local blackout resrtrictions get lifted and I can watch the games on the MLB TV app, like I can during the spring training games.

Is there a list of teams Bally has skipped payments to and those they are still paying? I'm curious about how many they have left.

If anyone notices I missed any, correct me but I'm pretty sure so far it's the Rangers, Guardians, Twins, and Diamondbacks, four teams with no ownership stake meaning they are subject to bankruptcy proceedings, and then the Reds and Padres, who have ownership stakes (as do the Angels), meaning they could break their contract if the payments aren't made.  They eventually coughed up enough to prevent the Reds from doing this, but they put out a statement saying they're going to essentially go ahead and let the Padres one be voided

I think MLB can because they no longer have a tv provider.

I don’t think they’ll stop paying the Angels as I’d imagine their contract with us is one of their more lucrative, but should they ever chose to the Angels can exercise this same option

They're giving customers a long time to redeem. A few years ago you had to redeem it on the Tuesday they offered it.

I have MLB.TV, but it sounds like if this happens to the Angels I will have to pay $20.00 per month since I'm in the local market, right? Or is that the price for the App. I got it through T-Mobile so I don't know what it costs regularly.

Do you watch the Angels on Ballys on TV now?  They will still be aired on tv in the local market if MLB takes over production

No. I don't have Bally's.

There's lots of ways to get around the blackout restrictions with the MLB app if you're even remotely tech savvy, just have to Google a bit. I use a VPN to NorCal with a firestick and it works fine.
