They would suspend him another 5 games for not playing after the suspension.

The point is he would have to prove he can play before the final 5 games. So he would serve the suspension and then play.

They would probably have to activate him on Tuesday, so he could get to play as much as 4 games. That also would force the team to dfa someone to open up a 40 man spot.

Meh.  I mean given Rendon's health history, missing the first five games of next season isn't really a big deal.  The guy will need ample periods of rest and games off anyway.  This isn't really a big deal either way.
