Mikhail Gorbachev dead at 91. Pretty interesting figure from a history perspective.

A man who presided over perhaps the biggest governmental transformation in modern history. A total systemic change from communism to free elections.

Now there, as here, there are those who are working to undo decades of progress and reform and revert to the past.

Unfair as it is, one of the things that I remember most is Rush Limbaugh, who never did anything more meaningful than promote himself, ridiculing people for going to hear Gorbachev speak in the US. He even went so far as to speak mock Russian.

In Russia, many things are "free". Things that are owned by the state, and then given to the people.

Like elections and their results.
