How much money does Arte make from Othani?

With all these trade rumors surrounding Othani. How much money does he bring Arte? 

I think he brings in between 20-40 mil a year.

The reports I've seen is Ohtani provides an additional $10 million a year in revenue. I believe they factored in merchandise and the bump in ticket sales and attendance on days he is pitching.

Either way, I’m sure Arte also loves the exposure the team gets in the Japanese market.

I personally love how so many Japanese/ Americans of Japanese descent attend the games. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met at the ballpark.

The question really can’t be answered in any sensible way.

You can’t just count up Ohtani jerseys and try to guess his impact on attendance.

The reality is a player like this provides an emotional attachment and reason to follow the team in general.  Guys like this (and Trout) are pure brand builders and loyalty building players.  And having these obvious superstar names helps ratings and helps the team negotiate better contracts.

If you can manage to win a WS or two with these kinds of players, the value of your franchise could go up an astronomical amount.

2 great points and so true.

I mean say we were to win a World Series this year, or next, just imagine the loyal attendance increases and merchandise sales, and people that will be a fan of Trout and Ohtani and the Angels franchise probably for the rest of their lives. Which is why it's so sad to see this team struggle so badly for so long now. The Angels have been missing one, and now two spectacular opportunities for over a decade now.
