I'm listening to a Henry Mancini playlist this morning while my kids work on math.

He's one of the great American tv and movie composers. My favorite tune from him is the theme for The Thorn Birds.

I've seen X about 10 times or so. Great band.

On the song 4th of July it's not Billy Zoom on guitar who is my favorite. Dave Alvin is great though. He's actually the one who wrote the song.

@Jay@T.G., saw that you guys were checking out the band X, and saw that they are playing the OC Fair in a couple weeks.  The wife and I are heading over to check it out.

That will be great. Glad to see that X are still playing. And English Beat also. We used to live in CM and saw lots of shows at the fair, including X. Last time I saw English Beat was at the Observatory (Galaxy Theater).

Fun fact: remember the bartender in Roadhouse? That's John Doe.

My wife and I saw the last show that Ranking Roger did for The English Beat before he died.  It was at The Cave in Big Bear.  Crazy, he died like 3 days later.

Im glad these bands still play, it just sucks how old we all are getting.
