LOL

I saw someone online bring up Colorado as a possible destination for him, and honestly that's the only place that makes a little sense. DH/pinch hit against lefties, just lift some balls and hope. AP, for all his GIDPs, seemed to also enjoy hitting a lot of balls about 340 to straight away left.

Shit man, would've easily given Rodon that deal

Yeah, the years part of that is appealing for sure. That said, the dude has been pretty pedestrian outside of 2021. There's also a decent possibility he just wanted to play in SF. Pretty solid place to pitch.

If he stays healthy and benefits from that park as he should he will be available again next winter.

That's a whole lot of money for someone with his injury history

To be fair, the Angels are paying Syndergaard 21 mil this year.

Sure but if we're serious about wanting to win these are the types of gambles we have to take

Angels already made their big gamble with the Syndergaard signing. I think they'll be acquiring another arm by trade or signing some vet on the market like Greinke...IF they actually add another SP  of course. Let's hope they do because they sure as hell need more than 1 SP

If he repeats his 2021 production he'll opt out and probably get 4/100-ish somewhere.

If he's good again this year and stays healthy, he would almost assuredly opt out.  If he sucks and/or isn't healthy, then a) he's not helping this year and b) the Angels are stuck with him at $20M+ for 2023.  They already have Syndergaard and Lorenzen on 1-year deals.  As always with the Angels, they need guys that are controllable.
