Nice birdie by Spieth on the first. He's now only 9 strokes back from Scheffler who hasn't even teed off yet.

I’m not a fan of how the PGA “handicaps” the field for this event.  I liked it better the way it was before, but I understand why they do it.  A season long points total and $18 million reasons to give the best a head start seems the only way to be fair.  Scottie Scheffler said yesterday he wasn’t a fan of it either, and he gets the best head start.

Either way, I’m a fan of the old system but watching Morikawa play right now is making it interesting.

Yeah they trying to make this tournament a bigger deal than what it is. 

Morikawa with a 61 was nice.

After yesterday’s 1st round, the PGA got exactly what it wanted.  Scheffler faltered and fell back into the field, and a couple guys, Morikawa and Bradley shot great rounds, and now we have what they wanted….a tight race.

It should make for a great weekend tournament.

Colt Knost just said that in over 1200 rounds of golf, Calvin Peete only hit 1 ball out of bounds.  If that’s true (and I’m sure it is if he said it on National TV) than that is incredible.

Yeah, I heard that, too. That’s a ridiculous thing, but Peete was just dead down the middle time after time.

I want to say he is the career leader in PGA driving accuracy.  I knew he was a straight hitter, but that stat is incredible.

I can hit 2 out of bounds in 3 holes, let alone 1200 rounds.

I didn’t get to see the finish of the PGA Championship as I was playing in a golf tournament myself, but I am always one to admit my mistakes. 

I wholeheartedly apologize to Viktor Hovland for calling you a choker.  Now that you fixed your short game/chipping, you’ve cut your scoring average down by almost 3 strokes.  Good on you, and your Hovlandites.

It's Ryder Cup time.  It's going to be a tall order for Team USA to win on foreign soil, but I'm somewhat confident.

All I want to see is an epic Tyrell Hatton meltdown on camera.  I love that guy.

Match and not stroke play so it is only a one hole advantage. But how do you tee it up after that? I think you just shake hands and move on to the next tee box.

It was a practice round. I think it starts counting tonight.

It does.  It starts at 1030pm tonight on USA Network.  Not sure why it’s not on Golf Channel though.  Probably because more viewers get USA Network with regular cable service?  I don’t know.

The US is getting pummeled. The first two matchups the Euros have won 4-3. Currently up 3 after 14 in match 3 and up 2 after 12 in the last match.
