I’m rooting for Naughton to be at least the seventh starter before next year is out.  Truth is if it weren’t for the injuries and if Canning was back on track I’d feel much better.

I didn't expect the sheer number of pitchers on the IL. And all we hear is "not expected back for some time" or similar drivel.

At least the pitching injuries didn’t start in earnest until August.

And at least Minasian has mentioned  that researching why they happen a lot to the Halos year in and year out is going to be very important going forward.   It’s nice to finally hear that after 8 seasons of this.

Take a look around MLB. It happens to most teams.  Hell, before the season began everyone was stroking the dodgers about their deep rotation. They've had to go to bullpen games on occasion and had to pull off a major trade to bolster their staff. 

Pitchers get hurt.

They do.   But, has it happened to many of those other teams for 8 straight years?   That’s the concern.

Minasian is concerned, or else he wouldn’t have said what he said this week.

More baby steps: the number of Harvey/Cahill flops in the rotation has decreased this season.

More baby steps part deux: Going forward, I do wonder if the increased emphasis on home grown pitching will allow for better monitoring of their pitching health, granted CRod and Canning are home grown and Sandoval has been with the org for a while now.

I thought you said Detmers wasn't rushed up to the MLB team because there were plenty of healthy pitchers. Now we have Packy and Criswell but it's only because they just want to see what they can do, right?

I did and I stand by that.  Sandoval wasn’t injured, Bundy wasn’t injured and Chris Rodriguez wasn’t injured when Detmers got the call.
