Probably. He got killed for it. And apparently it did no good.

He was actually very hated at the time of his death. He started speaking out about the Vietnam War. The white majority doesn't like it when someone upsets the status quo.

Peaceful protesting was the most visible staple of the Civil Rights movement, which went way beyond one man's life (but you knew that already).

The Christian Church grew throughout the world because of Christians' peaceful resistance against persecution. Many of them were killed. I'm sure God said to them, "Meh, you should have been like a cynic and kept your mouth shut."

History is only collectives. We should only identify as groups.

You're so afraid to engage in anything that even sniffs of identity politics that you hold the simplified belief that "protesting is stupid."

Meh. When's your next comedy night?

Not at all. I don’t believe in it’s efficacy.

White are your thoughts on the dems connection to slavery? Seems the Democrat Party has a very long history of racism. Shouldn’t Dems at least  change their name? How can the party of Jackson and Davis shed all responsibility of our current state of affairs.

It's unfortunate that political parties are static and don't evolve over time. If Andrew Jackson were alive today, which party would be more likely to listen to his idea to displace 60,000 brown people?

That being said, I've never been a registered Democrat, and I believe the Dems and GOP are equally hypocritical.

You didn't answer his question.

The Democratic party has done a lot to right it's wrongs, and to this day continues to improve in that regard.  Now... How can the party of Trump shed all responsibility of our current affairs?

They can't. They are partly responsible. Anyone who believes otherwise is wrong.

How is it that the Dems are in control in all of the major cities that have terrible problems with crime, especially in the black communities?

Here's what sibling of slain Oakland officer thinks of 'defunding' police

"It is a ridiculous solution to claim that defunding police departments is the solution to police brutality and discrimination because it's not a solution. It gets us nowhere as a nation and removes the safety net protection that every citizen deserves from their communities elected officials," Angela Underwood Jacobs said at the House Judiciary Committee's hearing on proposed changes to police practices on Capitol Hill.
